Havilah's "Jesus Loves Me"

Lydia, who just turned 13, is enjoying cinematography. She just finished a video portrait of our 18-month-old Havilah. It is quite good…

Hello this is Wendy Jeub, I want you all to know that Lydia told me, she did this little video of Havilah because she loves her so much and she thinks she is so cute. She did so much work to put it all together, for example, all the scenes and costumes and Havilah’s hair. Then she took it all to the computer and put it to music. Every time I watch it I get tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat. How incredible and sweet and wonderful that a 13 year old girl can love her baby sister so much and show it. Lydia loves the Lord and it shines through her actions. I am a proud mama! I really hope you all enjoy it… Mark 12:28-34.

  • Sheri Skluzacek

That was so awesome. Lydia is a very insightful young woman. She can only go up from here. And I agree with Delilah, wow has Havilah gotten bigger.

  • Debbie K

Really cute, Lydia, you did a great job! Loved all of the clothes changes, Havilah’s expressions, and especially the tea party. Take a bow, Lydia. And congratulations, Cynthia on the good help editing.

  • Jill

I don’t know which is more precious….the beautiful video of Havilah, or that her sister loves her so much to make it! What a blessing their relationship is!!

  • http://buildingthefamily.com The Heppners

Oh, WOW!! How adorable! Seeing the picture above of her with your family last summer, makes it even more amazing. Could this possibly be the same baby we saw last April? Our babies grow up so fast. We need to make the most of every moment with them.

  • The Tuttles

    Great job, Lydia!

  • Michelle in MN

Adorable. I had tears in my eyes watching it. What a beautiful little girl.

Lydia, you can come and do some video portraits of my kids any time. You do great work!

  • Rob, College Station, Texas

I’m a fairly new grandpa with a whole new perspective on toddlers. This captured the beauty of a new creature AND, because of Jesus influence in her life & her family’s, I wish I could live to see a video of the precious woman she will become in twenty years!

  • Kim Tisor

Lydia, your mom told me about this video…it’s wonderfully amazing! It appears as if God has given you a real talent for video. Keep using it! BTW…you had beautiful subject matter from which to work :-)

How precious! Lydia did a superb job making this video, and what an incredible amount of time must have gonve into making this tribute of love to her little sister, Havilah. Perfect choice for the music, too. We’ll look for more great things from Lydia in the future. What a blessing that your children love each other so. You have much for which to be thankful to God!

  • Linda

This was too precious for words. It is a loving tribute from one sister to another. Well done Lydia!

  • Sharlene Fortner

I loved this video. Such a good job!!! I especially loved the music Jesus Loves Me.

  • The Barrell Family

Oh Lydia, that video was so beautiful. What a gift from God, that He impressed upon your heart to do this for your sister and family.

  • Mrs. Towry

WOW … I love how your film opens with a thesis statement almost like a essay. It says to me, ” Hi I’m Havila and I’m going to my house, won’t you join me?” then you take me through the body of your essay and show me all that is in your day. Finaly, you close your essay by repeating your thesis statement and more as you finish your climb, enter your home and close the door. Well done! Do more … How about a season focused theme, or event theme like what it takes to shop and cook and clean up in the week of a mother; there’s no limit of what you’ll find!

  • Kristi Tripp

Way to go, Lydia! You did an AWESOME job! Jimmy is way into that kind of stuff now too. I don’t think he could have done as nice a job as you did though! (shhhh) :-)

  • Rachel Davis

Lydia, that was awesome!! My dh and I enjoyed watching it. My husband does video editing as a hobby and side job, and said you definitely have and eye for it!! (The transitions, like the door closing at the end was perfect!). Did you use iMovie to edit it? That is the best way to learn editing! Thanks for sharing it with us!

What a wonderful way to show your love for your baby sister! My 16 yodd has a sweet 10 month old baby sister. What a super thing! I have no sisters. God has blessed you with many. I can tell your Mom has taught you well and God has graced you with a tender heart for others. Praise to His Name!

  • Susan Meholick

This illustrates the title of your family book “Love in the House”. Obviously the video is excellently done, you truly have a talent for this; but more than that, the spirit in which you made it is clear, and that’s what brings tears to those who watch it. May God bless your talent and future efforts!

Hi, this is Lydia. Rachel Davis asked me a question. Yes, I did use iMovie and it is so much fun that I
can’t wait to finish the one on Havilah’s twin brother, Joshua. I have the same love for Joshua as I do Havilah. I am playing TobyMac’s “Boom” in the background of Joshua’s video and I cant wait to put it online.

  • Charlotte

You did such a tremendous job. I cried through the whole thing!

  • http://www.homeschooolblogger.com/joyfulhomemaker April Pierrotti

Lydia, how wonderful! You did an excellent job!

  • Rebecca Campos

That was amazing! So pretty and sweet. I can’t wait to see Joshua’s clip. Especially with the use of TobyMac in the background it should be lively and rowdy. :o) My favorite part was her sitting in the sink.

You have such a talent! Thanks for sharing.

Hello Lydia, I am not surprised that you are capable of something so heartwarming. I loved the fact that you choose your littlest sister as the subject; she is as cute as a little bug’s ear! I’m also waiting anxiously for your next show. It is my pleasure to know you! Love and big hugs!

Oh Lydia, we sure enjoyed this. We are a little biased towards little girls because our newest is Emma, born April 2007. My big boys stopped and came and watched the movie because they heard the rest of us oohing and ahhhing. You have quite a talent, I hope you keep going!

We were also impressed by the fun big sisters and little sisters can have together. Our oldest boys are 9 and 10 and our girls are 1, 5, and 7. We were thinking it would be really, really fun to have Lydia for a big sister.

  • Dina from MOMYS

My four year old, Rachel, thinks Havilah is “all kinds of adoreables”. She is desperate for a little sister and the tea party really caught her eye. The idea of having a sister to tea party & dress up with is pretty compelling.

Great work! Wow, that was a lot of costume and scene changes. It must have been pretty interesting working with Havilah like that. You truly brought out the best in her. Very nice.

  • Brittany

Lydia, the videos were both wonderful! Jacob the 20 month old I am babysitting for loved to “sing and dance” with the “baby” on the screen.
    The videos are simply precious.

  • K’la

Great job on making the video.
Havilah is a lill cutie :)

  • Nancy Jones

Lydia, your work is wonderful and your love for your sister shows in this sweet video. I had big ole tears running down my face as I watched it! Your parents are indeed blessed to have daughters like you and Havilah.

  • Kelly
