Technical Issues Blues

If you can read this post, it is because we finally got our server issues figured out. We are paying top dollar for a dedicated server, but one of its harddrives corrupted, forcing us to upgrade to a newer (and more expensive) one. Ug.

Apple Computer

So, consider this day a break from our blog. But we’d like to hear from our technical friends:

  • What service do you use for blogging?
  • How much are you paying?
  • Do you have referrals for a new web server?

I use blogger. I also have a website but it’s not very active because I find it more complicated to use than blogger. It is waiting for when I have more time to dedicate to it. I use http://www.ixwebhosting.com/ for it.

BTW, I just posted how I lost 20 pounds on my blog and linked to Wendy’s post about her diet book. :)

    Have a great week. :)

Just started reading your blog. I love large families!!! As for the technical issues, check out my husband’s webpage at http://www.roanokewebservices.com/

He will do whatever he can to help you. Hopefully you will get the problems resolved soon!!!

Got a personal response from RonsWebsites.com. WordPress.com (not .org) looks to be a better fit for this website. See, whenever our TLC show airs, we get a spike in visits. That’s what requires a dedicated server. Now we’re seeing regular spikes without the show, forcing the site to go down.

WordPress.com has some limitations, but they’re limitations I think Wendy and I can live with. We’ll have a new design up in a couple weeks (small news) with a site that doesn’t die on us (big news).

    Thanks Ron!
