Camp Smith

Our teens are fans of Julian Smith, a YouTube superstar who writes, directs and acts short (and quite wacky) comedy skits. They are sometimes crass — like so many short comedies can be, especially in the YouTube world — but we noticed that none were overtly over the edge into immorality. It seemed that Julian had a moral grounding that kept him from the more common cultural muck. We wondered of Julian’s background.

We just recently found out, and it’s quite interesting. Christian homeschool family of 8. Julian’s videos have been viewed 78 million times. The video below runs under 2,000. Wow, what a contrast, but it shows the power of a strong family. The Smiths validate all sorts of countercultural things: home schooling, large families and Christianity, in particular.

Check out Julian’s mom, Laura Harris Smith, on her YouTube channel YouTube.com/user/LauraHarrisSmith. She and her husband, Chris, have a very cool perspective on impacting the culture. And they have a lovely family.

That is some cool info, Jeub family! Our oldest daughter loves Julian Smith and even has a “Jelly Fish” tee : ) (not sure if you have seen that one of not yet)

I will have to tell her that he was home schooled just like she is!
