Wendy Is in Labor

We took this picture at 1:15. Sort of a gloomy day to have a baby, but we're feeling good!

Contractions started at about 9:00 am this morning. They’ve been steady since, gaining momentum.

Funny how life ticks along. This morning we were in the process of getting ready for a debate tournament. Cynthia, Lydia, Isaiah, Micah and Noah had to leave at 11:30 (without Dad), and Tabitha, Keilah, Hannah, Josiah, Havilah, Joshua, Priscilla and Zechariah ended up hanging out at home. Plan: Debate Rounds at 1:30 and 3:30, we’ll connect on the phone in between, forfeit a round if necessary. They didn’t need to, thankfully.

Cynthia and Lydia desperately want to be here for the birth. I asked the boys if they wanted to be here. “Been at 10, you’ve been at them all,” was their response. We had a good laugh. Boys. They packed a bag and are ready to stay in Colorado Springs for the night.

Yes, we deliver our children at home. The midwife will be by later this evening. My guess is this evening we’ll have the 16th Jeub join us in our home tonight. We appreciate your prayers. We’ll post news in the morning!

Whoo-hoo! Great day to have a baby! We just had a birthday party here…. my daughter Abigail turned 2 yesterday and my son, Matthew, turned 7yo today, so we had a party for both of them. Sounds like you are having your own party today! :-) I will be praying that all goes well without complications. Too bad you didn’t get to have this one on my birthday (May1) I thought you said you don’t go early?!?? Must be all that walking! :-)

uplifting Wendy & the new Jeub in prayer “Rejoice for this is the day the Lord has made!!”

  • j a

Well, I was just saying my children’s bedtime prayer tonight and included a prayer for all the pregnant moms we knew who were close to delivering (seems we know a bunch who are with child right now, including myself). Then I got on here and saw that you’re REALLY close. Of course we don’t technically know you, but still… I can include you now anyway.

I have stayed up all night keeping track of the weight gain of Elijah. I was a bit worried when the little preemie arrived at 4lbs. 8 oz. However, in just a few hours Wendy’s special brew of Kombucha, a little all natural elk powder and breast milk has made all the difference. Elijah has almost doubled his size. My little Joshua has started to taper off in weight. I want to know when Wendy is going to start marketing her secret formula.

Chris. Take a couple of months to get rested. You need to put forth a little more effort into accuracy when scheduling. You only missed the mark by 26 days this time. I don’t want you to fool us again on 4/1/12. I am already anticipating your email next year.

    Praise God for Elijah!
