Point Loma for Debate

“Train the mind for action” – 1 Peter 1:13

We’re at the National Invitational Tournament of Champions in beautiful San Diego, California. There are roughly 600 homeschool teens here with their families — perhaps 2000 people — at Point Loma Nazarene University.

All dressed up.
Speaking and debating.
Award winners who are competing for the top award of the nation.

Cynthia and Lydia didn’t break to outrounds, unfortunately. Still proud of them. Extremely proud. They worked their hearts out getting ready. They are feeling good about their speeches, though, and those breaks are announced tonight. Micah and Noah’s duo, too, has been well done. We’ll see how they do.

Win or lose, this is a fantastic activity. Even more, this is a fantastic community. We’ve conversed with great people from all over the country. There’s quite a future in homeschool speech and debate. If you’re a homeschooler, we can emphasize enough: do speech and debate!
