Life Stages

Life is full of stages. We really never, ever come to “know it all.” Whenever we start to get comfortable in a stage, we’re thrown into the next one.

Newborn.
Child.
Teenager.
Adult.
Spouse.
Parent.
Grandparent.
Great grandparent.

Each stage we start as a “newborn.” We move from child to teenager to adult. A spouse comes into our lives and that bond is so incredible, so over-the-top, that we can’t imagine it getting any better. Then we have a child, and we’re newborns again.

Transitioning into a new stage โ€” being a newborn again โ€” is the hard part. We fear the change, the bending and molding may be painful. But it’s really all good. All part of God’s plan for our life.

I’m not sure there is really a point to my post today, just reflection. No 3-point how-to list. Every stage has its blessings, and reflecting on them is worth it. On life, on learning, on love.

The Lord certainly sanctifies us through parenthood. . . if we let Him. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I am so very grateful for how the Lord has softened me through my children. He who began a good work in me will be faithful to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus. Praise God for that!
