Praying for Safety and Success

We couldn’t be more proud of Lydia, Isaiah and Micah for heading out into the forest this morning. Sunrise is at approximately 6:30 a.m. They will be venturing into hunting ground in the northwest corner of Colorado.

Could you join us in prayer? First for safety, then for success. Just as Lydia says in her award-winning expository speech above. Thank you!

Good news from the field! Micah was the first in the pack to drop a cow, 10:30 am opening morning. An hour later, his friend Matthew (who was hunting with Isaiah) dropped another cow. A bountiful harvest indeed…and that’s just 1/2 of day 1!

Two more cow elks have been harvested by party friends Ruthie (17) and Ryan (14). Looks like this is turning out to be the youth year! Two tags left: Ron and Isaiah.

Sunday morning update: four out of 6 tags are filled. Most in the hunting party are hauling quarters out of the field, a 2-mile walk UP HILL. My friend Ron is heading out with Isaiah to keep hunting. Praying that the Lord blesses our hunting party with abundance, filling these last two tags, making this the most successful Jeub hunt ever. And a bull would be really nice (these are either-sex tags).

Gee, I should stay home more often. =)

I hope you don’t hang dead animal heads on your walls like my daughter and son-in-law. When I visit I sleep on the couch and I wake up at night to see several deer heads and an elk head looking at me, LOL. It’s not a real big room. In a lodge, OK, but a regular sized room I just don’t like dead animal heads.

If we ever have you over, we’ll be sure to take down the dead animal parts. =)

Ron and Isaiah decided to help haul quarters out in the morning. They saw two bulls on the way. They know better. They’ll be out Monday morning trying to fill their tags.
