At our 2012 Birthday Bash our kids received individual cards from an old friend from Minnesota, Colleen. She sent $1 for every year of age of our kids. That’s quite the gift for our family: $154.
The Jeub kids strategized what they could do if they pooled their money. “We could replace our trampoline mat.” Dad bought them an olympic style frame off Craigs List a year ago, but the mat wore out (it was already quite old when he bought it). The frame was awesome, but without the mat was worthless.
They bought it together. I think it is much more valuable to them now. They each own a share. What a thoughtful gift – turned into a thoughtful investment.
