Making Life Simple

I met Dan Hayes at the Michael Hyatt Platform Conference in Nashville. We had both built home office suites, so we had a common knack for creative home decor. (See My Sweet Home Office Suite and Dan’s World Shedquarters.)

Going Paperless

Dan and his wife, Vanessa, have been producing a weekly podcast called Simple Life Together. I’ve enjoyed listening to them every week, and several car trips with the kids have been spent listening to their fun and practical ideas on simple living.

At the end of every show, the Hayeses read posts from iTunes comments. I was in my office working through a stack of paper (I’m still working on this), listening to Simple Life Together. It’s hard to believe I have been chipping away at paperless ambitions for 1.5 years, but with Dan and Vanessa’s encouragement, I’m pounding through.

So there I was, listening to SLT while stacking up some old lesson plans from the 1990’s to digitize. And Dan and Vanessa reads a comment from some guy that is listening to the show with his kids. And I think to myself, “Hey, that sounds like me and my family.” And then Dan says, “Thats the Jeubs! Family of 18!” And I think to myself, “Hey, that’s me!”

Listen to this broadcast. You’ll enjoy it. And the Hayes end the program mentioning the Jeubs. We will meet again someday, Hayes family!

Wow! Vanessa and I are blown away by your post! Thank you both so much!

We’re so happy you enjoy the show and we’re starting to see that we must have timed this podcast just right as it seems to be relevant to so many people. Here we were thinking that we’re all by ourselves trying to do this “simplicity thing” and hoping we’d meet some others through our show. We had NO IDEA that so many other families were having the same feelings as we were and they must have just been waiting for some content to listen to!

So, again, thanks so much for all the feedback and sharing. You’re awesome and really, we’d love to have you both on the show some time. I can see the title now: “16 Kids and Simplifying! What’s Your Excuse Again?”

    • Chris Jeub

“What’s your excuse?” I love it! Let’s make it happen, Dan. We’d be honored to be on a show that will someday soon be listened to tens of millions of people! (I’m not kidding…your show is awesome.)
